Feeling Of Well
Being
Take a Long deep breath
for womens health
wellness!
Have you ever noticed that our
breathing changes when we experience stress? And so
does our feeling of well being.
During periods of stress, we
automatically switch to short breaths and shallow
breathing. This is part of our “fight or flight” response
as mammals. Stress causes a physical reaction to prepare
ourselves to ‘fight’ or ‘run away’ from danger. In 21st
century living, our stress usually has nothing to do with
physical danger. And yet we react to stress by
automatically changing our breathing to shorter, more shallow
breaths. This affects the quality of our physical and
emotional health as well as our spiritual wellness.
If we want to know how to reduce stress in our
lives we must turn to discovering the power of our
breath. When talking about the mind body connection, it is our
breath that is the thread between the two. The
quickest way to a feeling of well being is to put our
attention on our breath.
I n today’s world,
womens health
wellness knows the best way to approach any stressful
situation is to take a long, deep breath. This helps
us instantly relax a bit. The extra boost of oxygen
also helps clear our minds for better thinking. The
more we consciously breathe the stronger feeling of well
being we will have.
Throughout your day, allow yourself to
take a breather to prevent stress and overwhelm from
snowballing. Take in a long, deep breath – pulling the
air straight downward – causing your abdomen to expand BEFORE
your chest expands. Feel the instant relaxation as you
exhale.
Not only are you releasing stressful
energy, exhaling also releases toxins from your body.
Take in several long, deep breaths and let your mind slow
down. Let go of the stress with each exhalation.
Allow yourself to feel deeply the feeling of well being you are
creating with each breath.
Whether you’re at work or waiting in
that long line at the post office, give yourself these moments
throughout your day to interrupt stress, overwhelm and
frustration.
A few long, deep breaths help us return
to a sense of calm, peace and balance. Now that is
truly having a feeling of well being and what womens health wellness is all
about!
